Donald McCain

Friday

Lough Derg Jewel
Track: Doncaster – 2:20
Jockey: Will Kennedy

He had an irregular heartbeat after Carlisle the last day. I’m still not sure what he did, whether he just got panicked or something else. It was nice to find something given how he faded out of it and he seems back in good order at home. It might be that he’s suited by the very small field which will give him time to get into a rhythm.

Same Circus
Track: Bangor – 1:00
Jockey: Brian Hughes

She’s high enough in the handicap, she lost her bottle a bit after a fall over hurdles but actually ended up running ok the last day at Catterick when staying on. She has won at Bangor before and she has a chance.

The Herbs Garden
Track:
 Bangor – 1:35
Jockey: Lorcan Murtagh

We have decided to stick to low-grade handicap hurdles with him now and he ran ok at Sedgefield where he finished his race off well, so we will go to Bangor and he must have a chance.

Knock House
Track: Bangor – 2:10
Jockey: Brian Hughes

He’s had his wind done since his last run and we will be sticking to hurdles in the short-term. He’s a horse that has had his fair share of niggly problems and the ground is on the slow side for him, but he’s shown high-class form and hopefully, he runs his race.

The Some Dance Kid
Track:
 Bangor – 2:45
Jockey: Brian Hughes

He’s got his penalty to carry and there are two or three horses in there that look ok but he’s tough and hardy and seems to like Bangor, which must give him a chance.

Capmonfor
Track:
 Bangor – 2:45
Jockey: Lorcan Murtagh

The French-bred gelding ran three times for leading point-to-point handler Colin Bowe without success before joining us. He has been disappointing in his two starts for the yard and I’m hoping he shows more in this.

Best Chance: Lough Derg Jewel
